Westpac needed to transform a Sydney workplace through immersive mural and environmental graphics.
Created with GroupGSA, Studio A and artist Emily Crockford, this project formed part of a workplace repositioning for Westpac's Concord call centre in Sydney.
The program introduced a 200 square metre mural and more than 100 linear metres of glazing graphics. My role focused on artworking, translating Emily's hand-made designs into resolved artwork for large-scale production.
The Challenge
The project needed to bring light, vitality and a stronger sense of place into a vast single-level floorplate at Westpac's Concord call centre.
Led by GroupGSA with Studio A and Emily Crockford, the concept centred on a natural and environmental theme expressed through a 200 square metre mural and more than 100 linear metres of glazing graphics.
My challenge was translating Emily's rough hand-made patterns into finished artwork without losing the tactile irregularity and character that made them feel human.
Because the graphics had to work across glazing, corridors and large wall surfaces, the system needed to stay cohesive, precise and production-ready at every scale.
The Solution
The response focused on carefully resolving Emily Crockford's patterns into artwork that could scale across the workplace without flattening their personality.
Hand-made forms were refined, aligned and expanded into a cohesive environmental graphics system, with enough technical control for fabrication and installation while retaining the warmth of the original work.
The Results
The mural and glazing graphics transformed the workplace from a neutral corporate floorplate into something more human, immersive and energising.
Colour, rhythm and a clearer visual story gave the environment a stronger identity and a more memorable atmosphere for staff.
That mattered in a call centre setting, where the surrounding space can shape how people feel during demanding day-to-day work.
Rather than acting as decoration, the artwork helped define the character of the workplace, turning circulation spaces into more engaging moments and reinforcing a consistent visual language across the floor.
